Henry Carl Nothdurft Family History starts in 1570 in Grossen Rhuden, Kingdom of Hanover, Germany then goes VIA Bremen, Germany on the German Bark Diana to New Orleans, USA and up the Mississippi to Cape Girardeau, Missouri. An engraving of New Orleans harbor before 1873 gives you a feeling of what it was like when they passed through.
The History of St. Martin's Church in Rhuden describes the village and kind of life the Nothdurft's lived. The Nothdurft's were active in support of the church rebuilding in 1834. Pictures of the village today and St. Martin's Church are included. Some of the original Parish Records mentioning Nothdurft's are shown. Maps show the location of Rhuden in Germany. Background information of Rhuden is detailed in Bushing Geography dated 1763.
